The Veil Is Gone, but God Is Still Holy | Restoring the Fear of the Lord

Aug 16, 2026    Pastor Erick Abreu

Jesus removed every barrier between us and God, but He never removed the call to approach Him with reverence.

When Moses encountered God at the burning bush, curiosity brought him close—but reverence changed his posture. Before God gave Moses an assignment, performed miracles, or sent him to Pharaoh, He taught Moses how to honor His presence.

Through the cross, Jesus tore the veil and gave us access to God. But the cross did not reduce God’s holiness; it increased our access. And when access increases, our honor should increase too.

In this message, we explore:

• What it truly means to fear the Lord

• Why curiosity can bring us close, but reverence keeps us there

• The meaning of the torn veil

• How spiritual familiarity can cause us to treat God as ordinary

• What it means to carry God’s presence through the Holy Spirit

• How an unveiled heart transforms the way we see and worship God

Ask yourself:

Have I become familiar with what should still leave me in awe?

Have I grown comfortable with what Heaven still calls holy?

May this message awaken a fresh sense of wonder, holy fear, and honor for the presence of God.
