IGNITE CHURCH · 8-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

The Table Is Not Full

A Five-Day Devotional

Eight years of God's faithfulness. A lifetime of people still waiting to experience His grace. Over the next five days, let's remember what God has done and prepare our hearts for the people He is calling us to reach.

DAY 1 / 5

Remember the Faithfulness That Brought Us Here

SCRIPTURE Lamentations 3:21-23; 2 Samuel 9:1

There are moments when looking back helps us see what we could not recognize while we were living through it.

Eight years of Ignite Church hold baptisms, answered prayers, changed lives, and ordinary people choosing to serve when no one was watching. They also hold uncertainty, exhaustion, and seasons when staying faithful was costly. Yet through every season, God has remained faithful.

David's kindness toward Mephibosheth began with a promise he had made to Jonathan years earlier. Circumstances changed, but the covenant was not forgotten. That is a picture of the God we serve: His faithfulness is not canceled by the passing of time or the difficulty of our circumstances.

Gratitude does not mean pretending the journey was easy. It means recognizing the hand of God in the middle of the journey.

Before we ask God for what is next, we should thank Him for how He brought us here. Remember the people who prayed, served, gave, cleaned, encouraged, and kept showing up.

We didn't make it this far because everything was easy. We made it because God was faithful.

Think About It

Where have you seen God's faithfulness in a difficult season? Who helped you keep going, and how can you thank them today?

Pray

Father, thank You for every season You have carried us through. Help me remember Your goodness without living in the past. Give me a grateful heart and the strength to keep saying yes. In Jesus' name, amen.

Take the Step

Send a message to someone whose faithfulness strengthened your walk with God. Thank them specifically.

DAY 2 / 5

The King Is Still Looking

SCRIPTURE 2 Samuel 9:3-5

When David asked whether anyone remained from Saul's household, Ziba mentioned Mephibosheth and his disability.

But David did not ask what Mephibosheth could contribute. He asked, "Where is he?"

The king was looking for someone others might have overlooked.

After eight years of ministry, it can be tempting to measure the future by the faces we no longer see. We can grieve those who have walked away and continue to love them. But we cannot let our grief keep us from noticing the people who have not yet walked in.

Somewhere nearby is a parent carrying a quiet burden, a young person struggling with hope, a neighbor feeling forgotten, or a family that is one invitation away from hearing the gospel.

Jesus sees people as more than problems to solve or seats to fill. He sees people worthy of love.

We will never stop loving the people who have walked away, but we cannot stop reaching the people who have yet to walk in.

Think About It

Who around you might be unseen, discouraged, or far from church? What would it look like to approach them with genuine care rather than an agenda?

Pray

Jesus, give me Your eyes for people. Forgive me when I focus only on what is missing. Help me notice those who feel forgotten and love them with patience and compassion. Amen.

Take the Step

Pray by name for one person who needs hope. Reach out to listen, encourage, or invite them to connect.

DAY 3 / 5

More Than a Building: A Place at the Table

SCRIPTURE 2 Samuel 9:7, 11-13

Mephibosheth did not receive a one-night invitation to the palace. David restored what had been lost and made room for him to eat continually at the king's table.

Scripture describes him as being treated like one of the king's sons. This was more than charity; it was belonging.

That is the kind of grace Jesus extends to us. We do not earn our place through status, perfection, or achievement. We are welcomed because of His kindness. And those who have experienced that welcome are called to extend it to others.

As Ignite prepares for a new building, our vision must remain bigger than walls, rooms, and an address.

The building is not the promise. The building is a tool for the mission.

We are preparing a place where children can learn about Jesus, families can find support, the overlooked can be seen, and people can grow through friendship, care, and discipleship.

A full room is beautiful. But a family that makes room for one more is the greater testimony.

Think About It

Do I help people feel they genuinely belong, or merely that they are welcome to attend? What is one way I can make room for someone?

Pray

Lord, thank You for welcoming me by grace. Make our church a family where people are known, loved, and helped to grow. Keep our hearts focused on people over buildings. Amen.

Take the Step

Learn the name and story of someone you do not know well at church, and take a step toward real friendship.

DAY 4 / 5

Prepare for Who Is Not Here Yet

SCRIPTURE Isaiah 43:18-19; Luke 14:21-23

God's faithfulness in the past gives us courage for the future, but it does not call us to stay still.

In Isaiah, God tells His people to pay attention to the new thing He is doing. Faith remembers, and faith also prepares.

In Jesus' parable about the great banquet, the invitation continues because there is still room.

Preparation is an act of expectation. We set another place because we believe another person matters.

We train volunteers, strengthen ministries, make space for children, and care for new families, not merely to grow an organization, but to serve people God loves.

The next chapter of Ignite is not simply about opening the doors of a new building. It is about opening our lives wider.

We can prepare through prayer, serving, generosity, hospitality, and discipleship.

We are not simply preparing for a new season. We are preparing for the people God will call us to love in that season.

Think About It

What might God be asking you to prepare today for someone you have not met yet? How can you serve in this new season?

Pray

God, keep us expectant and humble. Lead us toward what is next without letting us forget why we started. Teach me to prepare with open hands and an open heart. Amen.

Take the Step

Choose one practical way to help prepare Ignite's next chapter: serve, pray with someone, give, mentor, or welcome a visitor.

DAY 5 / 5

There Is Still an Empty Chair

SCRIPTURE Luke 14:21-23; 2 Samuel 9:13

An empty chair can remind us of someone we miss. It can also remind us of someone we have not met yet.

Both feelings have a place in the heart of a loving church. We remember those who have been part of our story while continuing to extend the invitation to those who may still come.

Jesus told a story about a banquet where the host sent his servant beyond the expected guest list because there was still room. The invitation reached the streets and country roads.

Grace does not wait for people to arrive completely restored or certain that they belong.

For eight years, God has been faithful to Ignite Church. Our response is not to congratulate ourselves and close the doors. It is to carry His hope into Hialeah, Miami, and beyond.

Someone needs prayer. Someone needs a friend. Someone needs to hear that Jesus has not forgotten them.

The table is not full!

As long as there is one more person to love, we still have a mission.

Think About It

Whose name comes to mind when you picture an empty chair? What loving step can you take toward that person this week?

Pray

Jesus, thank You that Your grace made room for me. Give me courage to extend Your invitation with love, respect, and sincerity. Use my life to spread Your hope like a wildfire. Amen.

Take the Step

Write down three names. Pray for them this week and personally invite one person to share a meal, have a conversation, or attend church.

There Is Still Room at the Table.

Let's keep spreading the hope found in Jesus like a wildfire.
