When I was younger, I remember that I went to spend some time with God in the park. I love the outdoors. Do you love the outdoors? Do you like to camp, fish, or just hang out at the park and have a good time? Well, I remember that I went to the park and it was late at night, it was one of those nights where I wanted to just spend time with God and be with him alone. Very good point here, spend time and more time with God because the more time you spend with him the more you will get to know Him, and the more you draw closer to Him.

As I was in the park I remember that I was walking and there was this dude that was working out, he was doing his cardio and running in the park. I kept walking and speaking with God but something caught my attention, I noticed that the time it took me to walk around the park one time, he had already run it 7 times. For those that know me, I walk very fast but I guess not that fast. I remember that as I was speaking with God I told him, God “I would love to run like that” and I felt God tell me “Why don’t you?”

I was like what do you mean. I know I can’t run like that, I have never run like that, and then there I felt in my heart a deep conviction. The conviction was “ you don’t run like that because you truly don’t want to ”.

You see if I ask you a question today will you be honest in replying.

Why aren’t you doing or receiving what you want? (Dreams, desires, aspirations from the heart, more of God, transformation)

The first thing that comes to your mind and out of your mouth is an EXCUSE.

Why is it that we have become an EXCUSABLE generation, for everything in life we have an excuse? You see I wanted to run like this man, but I had in my mind and my heart an excuse since I had never run so fast in my life without losing my breath I didn’t believe I could do it.

And that is our BIG problem. We want so much in life but we always bring up excuses.

When God convicted my heart and told me why don’t you run like that, it’s because you don’t want to. I knew He was right . My problem was that I didn’t want to believe it, I just wanted to forget it and move on. But it kept on hitting my heart not only the running but everything in my life. Why don’t I live with all that I desire, why don’t my dreams come true, why do I have to be stuck in certain situations, why, why WHY ?????

BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO.

Let me ask you a different question, What do you want God to do in these next few months?

God’s word is full of amazing promises for our lives and sadly we read them but don’t believe them or we might believe them in writing but not in living because we are full of excuses:

-Isaiah 55: 8-11

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Get ready because God is going to surpass your expectations.

I want to share with you a couple of points that will help you in any and every situation.

1st – Show Up

The first thing you need to do in anything God is calling you into is to Show Up. Sometimes all we need to do in our walk with Christ is Show UP. God will do the rest, but sadly we don’t show up. For many of us, we might be physically present but mentally absent.

2nd- Expect God to Show Off

Sometimes we pray and believe God while we are seeking but yet have an excuse to believe that what we are praying for He can do it. God will exceed your expectations, you just need to expect Him to show off.

3rd- Don’t Miss the Moment

You see sometimes we might be in the moment and still miss the moment. God was using that runner to teach me something that will change my perspective forever. If I had not been attentive to God’s voice that night, I would not be sharing this word.

God will show you things that no one else has seen and do with you things that no one else has done if you don’t miss the moment.
